City for Sale, an insider view of Hoboken vote buying in the 4th ward

This is part 2 of the exclusive MSV investigative series available by subscription.

Mr. Q, a veteran payee of 4th ward voter fraud over many years looks at you in brief moments turning away in a nervous and telling way.  Is he fearful of you looking too deeply into him? Or is it because he’s seen enough of the look in your eyes, recognizing it countless times from others, judging him for his outward appearance, his lack of economy so to speak? With Mr. Q, you can’t be 100% sure. Perhaps he’s not either. He is however certain to take cash for voting in every 4th ward election. Read More...

Jamie Cryan prepped by ‘Real Democrats’ for Hoboken Democratic Committee Chair

With the reorganization meeting Monday night at Room 84 and the Michele Russo “Real Dems” and their recruited Republican cast members in line to finalize their 38-34 lead for Hoboken Democratic Committee, a relatively new face is set to take the official role as Democratic Chair.

Replying to an inquiry by email on the rumors, Cryan wrote,

I would be honored, if chosen. The goal would be to bring us all together so we can expand the party and put up big numbers for Sen Menendez in his hometown. It’s about growing the party locally, not separating us.” Read More...

Mayor to Beth Mason: FBI declines your request on criminal investigation

In a letter to the City Council, Mayor Dawn Zimmer passed on a message to Councilwoman Beth Mason courtesy of the FBI: there will be no additional information given in the ongoing criminal investigation.

The rebuke comes as part of an apparent cat and mouse game where Councilwoman Beth Mason called for a special meeting last Friday.  That meeting failed to materialize likely due to failure to meet the Open Meetings Act requirement. (MSV reported exclusively on this last week.)

In the letter below, Mayor Zimmer declines to provide any additional information sought in the new special City Council meeting set for Monday.  The mayor explains the FBI informed her Friday it will not do so as it may compromise its case. Read More...

Beth Mason tries to fit in one more ambush

Another Friday and another call by Councilwoman Beth Mason for a Monday special council meeting.  In need of a distraction to get the FBI heat off and change the topic, Mason is back to her meme, “I’m going to get them,” with yet another shady contemptuous anti-public call for a meeting at the last minute.

This is transparency?  Yet another Friday ambush for yet another Monday meeting with the public looking elsewhere – as in a summer weekend.  The Beth Russo hydra looks to go on the offensive as the sweating among its troops is creating quite a messy puddle.  In their waning days of power, it’s sure to get absolutely nowhere other than the noise they will be screaming to the heavens to any reporter who will kindly listen, obey and repeat the narrative without asking any uncomfortable questions. Horse Sense: The (FBI) heat is on

The quiet before the storm has people on edge.  You can see it in the earlier City Council video with the less than forthcoming response to a yes or no question and the pointless arguing leading in about a certain horse coming in “consistently late” to the meeting. As if.

The question on whether Council members Beth Mason and Mike Russo have been reading emails from City Hall’s servers is easy enough to answer with a simple yes or no.  Neither could let one of those single syllable words escape from their mouths.  Mike Russo who is no slouch in the blathering department during council meetings wasted more words to say nothing deferring to the chair than to simply answer yes or no.  That’s not the Mike Russo we’ve all come to know in Council chambers.  The Mike Russo on the dais is happy to speak on all sides of an issue, sometimes in a single breath. Sully points every which way but the guilty

Al Sullivan was back in his Hudson Reporter column last weekend weighing in on the FBI’s criminal investigation at City Hall on data breaches but as usual when it comes to Hoboken political corruption and law breaking, it’s not on the side of law and order.  According to Al, even with no FBI charges or indictments made, it’s all “overkill.”  Without those basic facts, or in this case next to zero, he points the finger of blame at the Zimmer Administration.  Is there anything new with Sully? Have you seen the emails? Questions to Beth Mason and Mike Russo (video)

Here’s the conclusion of Da Horsey’s remarks with pointed questions to Council chair Beth Mason and Councilman Mike Russo on the emails they seek from local media sources and political activists.

A simple yes or no question ties them in knots.  Although Councilwoman Beth Mason claims they are happy to answer the question later, no such answer is forthcoming from either her or Mike Russo.

Wonder what the FBI makes of that?

Talking Ed Note: MSV has come to a conclusion on this criminal investigation having looked some people in the eye.  The FBI is catching up and that reality may hit sooner than later. Read More...

Beth Mason’s Hoboken411 ghostwriting minion returns with more lunacy celebrating the County Machine’s victory

With the HCDO victory last night in the county elections, the Hoboken411 minion picks up the ghostwriting trade as friend of Beth Mason to celebrate and declare victory.  But for who exactly?

The Hudson County machine, turned out a “unity” ticket on Column A and generated some votes from loyalists but hardly in impressive numbers against registered voters.

Mason411’s latest screed: Machine wins!

The Hoboken411 “victory” will be short lived.  The results are not anything surprising to put it mildly and the declaration of victory in Hoboken for Democratic Committee is premature.  Councilman Ravi Bhalla proves to be the differentiator between two Cold War rivaling county machines.  His standing in the county and within Hoboken rises with the effective short race he was encouraged to run last minute.
