Sign of the Times: Corruptocrats United!

Carmelo Garcia head of the agency he’s suing in his banana republic of the HHA poses with his fellow litigious supporter
of Vision 20/20, the massive undocumented redevelopment plan downtown in Councilwoman Beth Mason.
The event for Garcia was a failure as most people rejected repeated pitches to surrender (more) money to Garcia.

Unrelated: Taxes are going up in Hoboken and once again it’s HudCo courtesy of the HCDO increasing your bill. Carmelo Garcia gets a piece of the action. He receives $5,000 annually reportedly as an “aide” to Freeholder Anthony “Stick” Romano.

Garcia is on three taxpayer payrolls: $165,000 annually from the federal housing agency, $49,000 as an Assemblyman since selected by Union City Mayor Brian Stack and the bonus money $5,000 from the county.

Hoboken taxpayers will see on average an increase from the County of approximately a little under $400 annually. Read More...

Jersey Journal: Richard Mason of Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz and Beth Mason face millions in campaign fines

The Jersey Journal confirmed Richard Mason of Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz and his Hoboken politician wife Beth Mason are facing millions in fines due to their massive campaign violations.

As reported previously on PolitickerNJ, the Masons are facing millions in fines for their blatant and outrageous flouting of New Jersey campaign law in 2009 and 2011.

The Jersey Journal story also cited Beth Mason’s problems with street money where she distributed cash on the day of a Hoboken election. Mason brushed off the blatant law breaking calling it a clerical error. Read More...

How you can support Carmelo “The Wire” Garcia

Carmelo Garcia is suing the Hoboken taxpayers and the Hoboken Housing Authority itself for an alleged “veiled threat” against him but it might as well be for not green lighting his real estate Vision Money/Money plan.

Either way, he wants more of your money.

Tonight at Lulu’s on River Street, Carmelo Garcia is asking you to fork over the benjamins.
The money Hoboken taxpayers are spending to stave off his second ludicrous civil lawsuit, borne out of the outrageous “ethnic cleansing” claim is obviously not enough. Read More...

Carmelo Garcia survives having complaint thrown out of court

=&0=&

In a surprise, the Hudson County Superior Court decision did not as anticipated by court observers toss out the entire complaint from Carmelo Garcia and “ethnic cleansing” attorney Louis Zayas.

Similar to the first, all the claims were thrown out of court but one sustained “threat” to the right to “free speech and political affiliation.”

Carmelo Garcia, his amended lawsuit barely survives being
thrown out of court outright on a single allegation so he gets to sue
the HHA and City of Hoboken while pulling down a contracted
salary of $165,000.

The Court recognized the defendants, Mayor Dawn Zimmer and former HHA Chair may not even hold different political affiliation but stated even a “veiled threat” alleged in the complaint means that as all the other claims are thrown out, the case narrowly is allowed to survive, albeit on the most threadbare of allegations. MSV however believes the angst is premature and notes the recognition on PolitickerNJ is a sign of the times; there’s more to come. In the interim, our neighbor across city lines at the Jersey City Desk has already picked up on the greatest Beth Mason transparency ever writing:

Hoboken Schadenfreude as Beth Mason and Richard Mason of Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Krantz face millions in ELEC fines!

Beth Mason, Hoboken’s self-anointed counte$$ / Queen of Transparency faces along with her husband Ricky Mason a large spoon of schadenfreude for their years long efforts to harm Hoboken and its residents.

While less than transparent in the attempt to subvert the sole buyer of Hoboken University Medical Center in 2011 and destroy Hoboken’s finances in the process, Beth Mason has been a stalwart in voting down progress or anything resembling decent government; be it repaving Washington Street or approving the permanent 9-11 Memorial to Hoboken victims. UNCOVERED! Beth, Ricky Mason and Ines Garcia Keim in hundreds of campaign violations, facing up to $2.6 million in fines!

=&0=& =&1=& =&2=& Yesterday’s breaking story on Beth Mason’s campaign violation turns out to be only the tip of the iceberg. Media reports initially limited the Mason family mess to the 2011 Beth Mason for council campaign but as it turns out =&3=& Among those featured in the violations are Beth Mason’s husband, Richard Mason of Wachtell, Lipton,  Rosen & Katz and long time Masonista political operative Ines Garcia Keim, both listed as Treasurers. The chart below shows the full number of violations from Beth Mason’s two campaigns: 2009 and 2011 tabulated from NJ ELEC. Most of the violations stem from lack of timely reporting in the campaign, re: =&4=&. Others with =&5=& made to fund Beth Mason campaigns. Campaigns have a responsibility =&6=&, and to others in the campaign process to report accurately and legally on how finances are run in their respective campaigns.
The chart shows the election, counts, issues and number of transactions (violations).
Questions had earlier been raised on MSV and elsewhere about Beth Mason’s illicit distribution of cash to multiple people in her 2009 campaign from a single check, an obvious campaign violation. Mason made excuses for the obvious shady practice and pointed the fingers at others. But with the Mason family’s huge outlays for campaign and political operatives, people are asking why any violations should occur in the first place? MSV has questioned Beth Mason more than once in City Council meetings on numerous unanswered questions on her campaign expenditures and other local media failed to follow up on any of it. Numerous political operatives, advertising and other campaign expenses have never been accounted for and Mason’s shell company, Newton, Lao, Leonard & Locke continues to be a focus of interest in additional civil and/or criminal wrongdoing.
Beth Mason attempts to cower behind Ines Garcia Keim on a return photo after assaults on MSV on Washington Street in broad daylight with her political operative James Barracato (l) during the Hurricane Sandy emergency. Beth Mason stood by during the physical assault and refused the requests her henchmen cease and desist.
Now she’s up for hundreds of campaign violations.
=&7=& =&7=&=&9=&: It remains to be seen if the violations will be cured in the complaint. In the end, it’s possible the Mason violations will be bundled into one fixed flat rate low fine. The totals in potential fines represents the maximum penalty of $6,800 each for 387 violations.

Beth Mason’s transparent violations in City Council @ 7:00?

Live streaming video by Ustream

The City Council will be meeting tonight, amidst some very lengthy campaign complaint charges against Beth Mason and her husband Ricky Mason. If the shoe was on the other foot, a full blown political operation would be staged featuring Mason political operatives rushing the microphone complaining about the transgressions.

The question is did Beth Mason know about her latest problems when she tried to make her questions about the employer of Councilman Ravi Bhalla an issue?  Mason forced the City to put up $20,000 to handle her inquiries on issues the City says are attorney-client privilege at just the last meeting.
