Governor Chris Christie as expected announced outside his office he would not be jumping in for the Republican nomination earlier today.

Saying he has work left to do, he did not rule out future consideration for any job including President.

Talking Ed Note: One Old Guard stalwart at City Hall remarked to Da Horsey a month ago, he wished Chris Christie would run for President and “get out of here.”

The Governor may have made a decision on whether to jump into the Presidential race and if so, he may tell us today at a 1:00 pm press conference.

On another note, a source close to high levels at the hospital has stated the court hearing will be delayed again this week with negotiations yet underway.

Chris Christie finds himself in a unique position.  He’s late to the big dance to seek the Republican nomination but the nation’s dour mood plummets and Americans wonder where the bottom is with the worst economy since President Jimmy Carter. In New Jersey, there’s no such thing as shocking when it comes to elected officials and crossing over the velvet line of the law.  Fans of the Prohibition Era HBO Show “Boardwalk Empire” saw how fiction past meets reality today when yesterday’s episode had one political insider locked up for election fraud.

Steve Buscemi plays the role of Nucky Thompson, the man behind the scenes who controls Atlantic City.  He’s the guy running the Boardwalk Empire.  In the episode he says, he’s going to beat the rap.  Have you heard others saying the same thing of late? Amazing thing about history; those who fail to learn repeat it.  Happens all the time.

Talking Ed Note: This clip features Councilman Mike Russo’s words from the last City Council meeting during the discussion on the introduction of a bond to aid the sale of the hospital.  It was KOA (Killed on Arrival) by the Beth Russo hydra.

Russo was vehemently against considering the introduction of a bond to benefit the hospital’s sale and said he was doing this on behalf of the taxpayers. But he doesn’t do anything for the taxpayers, doesn’t pay taxes and most of his 3rd ward supporters don’t pay Hoboken taxes either as they live in subsidized housing. Read More...

In May of last year, Hoboken was honored to host Governor Chris Christie as he launched his program to help municipalities gain control over property taxes.  During a Q&A, he took questions from the audience.  One member of the City Council refused to sit on the stage with the Governor instead taking the microphone and peppering the Governor with several questions.  (Other members of the public settled for one but they aren’t you know, undeclared counte$$’.)
