MORTe runs successful sabotage against City: Beth Mason gets unglued during public portion

The Mason paid political operative looks like a psychic genius.  He correctly predicted that MORTe would not provide a sixth vote to pass a simple budget line transfer. The line transfer did not involve any overspent funds as Councilwoman Beth Mason tried to claim. After 90 minutes of tedium led by a late arriving Councilman Michael Russo where it was obvious to everyone in the room, the vote as magically predicted was 5-4 lacking the needed sixth vote. On the critical issue of refinance of the midtown garage, Michael Russo arbitrarily is asking for a reduction in the bond.  The refinance of the bond will as written end as the current bond and save the taxpayers $50,000.

The meeting last night degenerated at one point into voice over voices with MORTe making it clear they will play games with everyone including public safety if they can get an opportunity to hurt the mayor – no matter if Hoboken gets hurt.  There’s question now where funds will come from to cover public safety.  The amount in question is about $2 million.

The tell in Russo’s question led to his comment on the parking utility funds available.
The obvious goal here is to deplete every possible nickel available to theCity and force the budget into a deficit, and lead to tax increases, layoffs or both.
Director Nick Trasente corrected Councilman Tim Occhipinti on his claim that the garage is legally not permitted refinancing.
Tim Occhipinti pantomimed to us that he is looking forward to voting no and putting the City in an immediate hole – opening a $4.5 million hole.
Occhipinti is complaining about the parking utility budget that he wants to use that money.  Occhipinti comes up with an incorrect idea for savings and is corrected on the interest rates.
Director Nick Trasente tries to correct Occhipinti on fact of interest rates to no avail.
It was a banner night for MORTe.  They sabotaged Hoboken on two financial areas: a simple line item budget transfer and refinancing the midtown garage.  They say there will be no layoffs for their action to starve the City.
Councilwoman Beth Mason claims “professionals say there will be no layoffs” and why not pay down the bond and deplete the City’s available funds – likely in the parking utility. She doesn’t say who or how.
Councilman Dave Mello notes the sabotage is intended to force tax increases.  He also states Councilman Michael Russo doesn’t care since he pays no taxes.
Councilman Mike Russo says he is proud to be born and raised in Hoboken and Councilman Mello  “can’t say that.”  He adds he is proud of his resume. (It’s unclear what any of his response has to do with taxes.)
Councilwoman Terry Castellano complains she hasn’t spoken again but to the shock of no one in the room votes down the savings to the City and taxpayers.
With not one sound argument to vote down the midtown garage refinance, MORTe does exactly that.
Council President Ravi Bhalla warns the repercussions will lead to the layoffs of City workers.  Councilman Michael Russo is laughing at this.
The Council President says the results for the irresponsibility will be on MORTe’s heads.
All this versus saving the City $50,000.  For the second time MORTe said no.
MORTe is in full sabotage glory.
Bring on the Feds!
The Russo Civic Association was shut down during the summer.  But although Mike Russo said they lost their lease, items have stayed in place for months since.  FBI related?  One can only hope that proves true.
Talking Ed Note: After this sorry display Da Horsey signed up for public portion.  We spoke some truth on the elephant in the room (the Data Theft Conspiracy) and asked some very obvious questions.  Beth Mason didn’t like it and kept interrupting even appealing to the Corporation Counsel for help during our remarks.
This is the same Corporation Counsel they ignored earlier who tried to get the Beth Russo hydra not to vote on their resolution to force tens of thousands of emails between the mayor’s staff and local media into the public square due to an FBI investigation.
Former Councilman Nino Giachhi a lame duck at the time would not agree like MORTe to discuss the matter in private session.  Councilwoman Beth Mason has attempted to interfere with the FBI investigation along with ALL of Morte!
That’s not conjecture.  That’s a fact and it’s on video.  You want to scream libel Beth Mason, go ahead and try.  The questions are NOT going away. Read More...

Mason paid political operative on basic line item transfer "You’re stil not going to get it"

As the mayor and the public addressed the issue on the item of budget line transfers, the fix is once again already in.

A paid political operative of Councilwoman Beth Mason said aloud during Scott Siegel’s comments on this being “routine housekeeping.”

To that the operative blurted out, “You’re still not going to get it.”

Who might that be?

The council minority members are showing their hand and trying to claim a line item has been overspent. They are being told that is not the case. Read More...

First City Council Meeting tonight after FBI’s Smashing the Data Theft Ring at City Hall

Hoboken has a Monday night City Council meeting tonight due to the League of Municipalities meeting later this week.

This is the first opportunity for residents to see their council members in action since the FBI arrest of Patrick Ricciardi’ and his massive looting of the communications in the Mayor’s office going back to early 2010 – as stated in the FBI’s criminal complaint.

There’s important matters of budget line transfers and the refinancing of the midtown garage.  Failure to act on these straight forward measures means big trouble for taxpayers and City workers re: layoffs. Read More...

Grist for the Mill: The FBI Data Theft Edition, Episode 1

People are of course closely going through the insightful but limited roadmap laid out by the FBI’s criminal complaint, but others don’t bother with such factual details.  One Old Guard person known for taking a board position with benefits so he doesn’t have to lay out from his millions has been telling people the opposite of what people conclude after reading the complaint. According to this Old Guarder it’s the mayor’s communications manager and confidential aide who are persons #1 and #2 in the criminal complaint. He’s absolutely seriously proposing that people in the mayor’s office worked to steal their own email and did so through Patrick Ricciardi.  Stop laughing. Another reader emailed on a conversation with another old guard adherent who would not entertain any other names but City Councilman Peter Cunningham and former councilman Michael Lenz.  The reader added no amount of facts would deter them from that conclusion. You have to admire the steadfastness of the Old Guard.  Then again, they aren’t completely isolated and have been joined in this routine by former people who left Reform joining up with the well financed Beth Mason payroll.  One such payee even managed to get a Mason political operation support letter in the Hudson Reporter last weekend. Before the case broke, MSV was told by one such Masonite among her greatly diminished base the FBI was here for Mayor Zimmer because of City contracts.  At the time we laughed and didn’t know he was just parroting the party line from Hoboken411.   Speaking of the website where Councilwoman Beth Mason runs her political operations, Perry Klaussen is having a tough time coping with the reality of truth bearing down on him.  Since Patrick Ricciardi was suspended from City Hall, his access on suspect if not illegal information along with some photos has evaporated.   Patrick Ricciardi was apparently the information source for articles and the FBI must have some interesting dots connected.  In the criminal complaint, the FBI laid out a city divided into factions where “articles and comments” appear on blogs. Hoboken411 is obviously the source for the suspect information on “articles” and MSV is the “weblog” noted for its comments by readers.  Previously the boys of Hate411 said the FBI didn’t care about theft of data from City Hall and laid out themselves as heroes along the lines of the Pentagon Papers.  The Mason minion is a self-proclaimed Nixonian history buff.  (See video lower on the page.)
Patrick Ricciardi was the hateful voice of Loveyourtaxmoney on
the NJ.com wild west Hoboken forum.  He really did love it to
the tune of almost $400K in 2009 and 2010.
Reliable sources also confirm Patrick Ricciardi was the nasty voice and author of =&0=& on Hoboken’s wild west NJ.com forum.   That screen name was notable for its hatred of Reform, people advocating for good government and condescending screeds against anyone who wasn’t an Old Guard adherent.   One thing you can say about Ricciardi.  After earning close to 400K for 2009 and 2010, he certainly chose the right name for himself. =&1=&:  =&2=& noted Patrick Ricciardi’s base salary was 73K but failed to show the complete numbers he’s pulled in recent years with OT.   The last personnel cost reductions proposed by MORTe was when they held sway before July and they had proposed cutting the mayor’s salary and the Directors for=&3=&  Even without a second pay cut, =&4=&.  The mayor doesn’t earn OT, and Patrick Ricciardi just about =&5=& his base salary doing so.

Justice and the law shockingly rears up in Hoboken

It’s the biggest corruption story in Hoboken since Peter Cammarano’s arrest.  If you are reading this that’s already old news for most of you.  For some, it’s a cringeworthy time looking in the rear view mirror at their foolish words or worse.  For others it’s a time for delusional fronting pointing in every direction but the mirror and for an unknown number panic with the horror show and a knock at the door to come.

If anyone held hope the FBI was dormant in Hoboken, that question has been resoundingly answered.  The Boys (and girls) of Summer were quite busy and have started an Autumn Classic. Read More...

The FBI Data Theft Investigation Slams into town

A Mile Square View Exclusive Feature

The Boys of Summer from Newark led by US Federal Attorney Paul Fishman have been quietly working  since May unbeknownst to most and laying the foundation on what will become a massive criminal conspiracy case of historic magnitude against the mayor, her staff and the people of Hoboken.

In a similar widely reported case, one hacker managed to break into a personal email account of former Governor Sarah Palin.  What Hoboken has on tap and has already been brought to light absolutely dwarfs that criminality. Read More...

It’s not to late to sing, sing a song

The FBI’s criminal complaint in the Patrick Ricciardi case heralds the next shoes to drop but the trail of shoes to follow may be more messy than ploughing through Imelda Marcos’ closet.

Humorous twitters are now showing up as this one:

Then there is this from Patrick Ricciardi’s ex-wife on NJ.com:

MSV extended an invitation to discuss in more detail and some Old Guard forces promptly interjected in an attempt to convince us not to communicate with each other.

There’s more on this at the Hoboken Now thread, but be forewarned, it’s not pretty: Read More...

Helping others this Thanksgiving

Dear Friends, In 2009, a group of us sponsored and hosted a Thanksgiving dinner buffet provided free of charge to residents of Hoboken’s senior citizen apartments as well as families living in Hoboken’s public-housing facilities. Last year, we turned the event into an annual tradition, serving Thanksgiving dinners at two different locations and drawing an enthusiastic crowd of seniors to the Multi-Service Center, where they genuinely appreciated a quality meal among friends and family and a fun evening reminding everyone that Hoboken is a community that cares about its own. As November approaches and people begin to get caught up in another hectic holiday season, I am writing to ask for your support in continuing what has become a wonderful Hoboken tradition. The Family & Friends Thanksgiving Dinner does not receive any sponsorship from any organizations or government entities. It is a bona fide pass-the-hat arrangement, and when there’s a fund-raising shortfall, it falls to the central organizers to make up the difference. Last year, the total tally for food and beverage came to nearly $2,400, and all the food we bought went quickly. I know we are living through tough times, and everyone is having to tighten their belts a little bit. However, times like these are when it’s most important for those of us who are able to chip in whatever we can to support community events and services to stand with those less-fortunate and remind ourselves that we are all part of one Hoboken community. Anything you can chip in to help make this year’s Family & Friends Thanksgiving Dinner a success would be greatly appreciated, whether you can contribute $5 or $500. Please contact me at this e-mail address: jstuiver@gmail.com or call me at 201-978-8977 to ask how you can make your donation, or volunteer serving food at the event on Tuesday, Nov. 22. Thanks so much for whatever you can do, and best wishes in your own Thanksgiving plans. Best, Jake Stuiver
