In a historic 52-48 vote by the US Senate last night, Amy Coney Barrett was confirmed to the US Supreme Court.
At a following White House ceremony last evening, US Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas swore Barrett in making her the fifth woman to serve on the top judicial body in US history.
The legacy bequeathed by the passing of former justice Ruth Ginsberg is filled by another woman with an added first. Justice Barrett is the first woman US Supreme Court Justice to serve with school-aged children.
