Up to bat: All eyes on voter fraud in the 4th ward

Monday will be the first feature sent to the new premium content subscribers.  The perspective comes from life as a voter in the back end of the fourth ward.  It’s a way of life and a “culture” most Hoboken residents never see or know exists.  Yet it often plays a critical role in determining the outcome of legislation in the town.

MSV will be presenting a view of a 4th ward resident who votes in elections religiously.  He’s not voting because he likes the candidates, endorses their message or thinks they will do good things.  He votes because it gets him $40. Read More...

‘She did it,’ Again! Beth Mason shows how to walk the politrickin dog

She’s done it again.  Well last time Beth Mason proclaimed she “did it,” it was to tell everyone how she saved the Police Department when the mayor’s plan Mason bitterly fought led to retirements and cost the department not one layoff while saving the city $2.5 million in the first year.  This one is no less of a whopper.  It’s war on individuals in the Zimmer Administration and vindictive and petty to its cynical end.

It’s not about saving taxpayers any real money.  Beth Mason who championed “right-sizing” in 2009 is now for anything but.  She’s more in “get’em” mode as one commenter said recently and the them is anyone in the mayor’s administration.

Talking Ed Note: Just a quick note surrounding the emails mentioned here.  An amendment to the witch hunt resolution after executive session passed making Beth Mason and Mike Russo’s resolution inert.

It asks for the emails to be released by the FBI.  The FBI however have more important things to attend to like taking down the Mason minion Hoboken411 apparatus when they expose the truth of the intrusion(s) into City Hall’s communications.

As MSV said Wednesday, Beth Russo would get nothing.  And you know what, they deserve nothing.
What they will get will be ‘served’ courtesy of the FBI.

Horse Sense: With budget surplus zero, Hoboken snafu sure to follow

At Wednesday’s council meeting, the action of most lasting impact on Hoboken was the zeroing out of the budget surplus.  Providing approximately $4 million in tax relief, it sets the city up for big trouble and not in the long run, just around the corner.

The city is now naked and unable to handle tax appeals, pay the firefighters unions eventual contracted back pay or deal with any myriad of issues.  Worse, Hoboken’s bond rating just above junk status is guaranteed to be hurt by the immature action of the Beth Russo ‘majority.’ Read More...

Mayor Zimmer: ‘Help stop the insanity,’ – Vote Bhalla!

Dear Friends,
Thank you, thank you, and thank you for voting, volunteering,
and telling all your friends to vote on May 10th to give us a new
City Council majority that cares about the future of Hoboken.
Now it is crucial that this Tuesday, June 7th, we vote to increase
our voice on the County and State level to keep moving our City
ahead and position ourselves to demand lower taxes and more
resources for Hoboken.

Please come out and vote this Tuesday, June 7th for
Column C, Ravi Bhalla for Assembly and
Democrats for Honest Government Committee candidates.
By getting out and voting, we send a message that we as taxpayers,
are fed up and want fiscally responsible change on the County and
State level.

Vote Column C for Change on Tuesday to give Hoboken a strong
county and state voice, and to prevent our opponents from wheeling development money through the Democratic committee.  (They wheeled
over $1 million through the committee for Mayor Roberts’ election and will do it
again if they can).
Voting on Tuesday sends a message to the County and the
State that Hoboken needs more resources to help with our numerous
challenges, and we absolutely want lower taxes on every level!

By voting yourself, and bringing a few friends, you have the power
to send a strong message to the County and the State that Hoboken
wants change!
As I watched the Council meeting last night I was especially
thankful that on July 1st I will have a Council willing to work
with me on behalf of the people of Hoboken, and who won’t play politics with our City’s vital interests.
Last night the lame duck Council majority voted to ZERO OUT
our surplus. They are willing to destroy the fiscal health of our city,
ensuring that we will face a fiscal crisis next year and in the forseeable future, resulting in massive tax increases and layoffs in future years, destroying our bond rating for years to come.
This was not done because of any genuine disagreement about policy;
it was done simply because they believe the crisis they will cause will
help them regain power.

Clearly, we need to keep pushing hard for change on the local, county and State level.
I am appalled and angry at their actions.  Together, let’s translate
this anger into pushing for a positive direction for our City. A strong
showing for our Democratic Committee members in Column C will
raise our profile with the County.
Ravi is truly committed to fiscal responsibility and we need
his voice in Trenton to represent Hoboken. If Ravi is elected, the
reform Council members and I will choose his reform successor who
will serve until November 2012.
Together, this Tuesday,  let’s keep pushing for change on the
local, county and State level!
Many thanks!

MSV to Beth Mason in City Council: HAVE YOU SEEN THE EMAILS?

Last night, Citizen Horsey went up to speak on the issue of the email witch hunt sponsored by Councilwoman Beth Mason and Councilman Mike Russo posing a question.  The question was specific, germane and most important to the issue at hand with the FBI in town doing a criminal investigation on exactly this information.

“Have you ever seen any emails that you are requesting in this resolution?”

MSV put the question directly to Councilwoman Beth Mason before addressing some additional remarks and her reaction was anything but comfortable.  “I’m requesting them from Corporation Counsel,” she said practically whispering. Read More...

Always in the fight

Some bad new tonight with the complete collapse of Councilman Nino Giachhi on budget surplus minimums. Such is life.

The Beth Russo face showing it’s essence but not answering the basic question posed, “did you see any emails requested in your resolution?”  The FBI will be most interested in the reaction to the question.  Their Hoboken411 apparatus is going to be in deep trouble.

Panic, deflection, avoidance behavior and major trouble in the form of the FBI taking down their RICO operation. People will be going to jail. Read More...

Questions on the new premium content

Last night’s redevelopment meeting allowed an opportunity to meet some new readers and hear quite a few questions on the new premium content option.

So let’s give an example on how the content differs.  There are stories where for legal reasons you can’t post because people can’t or won’t go on the record but their story is credible and supported by the facts.  Those stories are most appropriate for premium members by subscription.  In addition, MSV’s best overall content will go to subscribers, it’s only fair. Sign of Tim’s Times: NJ Transit, the constituent that matters most

Last night’s meeting on the downtown redevelopment with NJ Transit was a good mixture of people although not quite jam packed as it was a community meeting where no final decisions would be made.

The mixture on both sides was on the lower side, about 100 people total but the breakdown especially before the meeting was akin to the Hatfields and the McCoys each on different sides.

Those skeptical of NJ Transit on the reform side of the fence sat on the right side of the room while those who might be deemed sympathetic appeared to be on whole sitting on the left.  MSV remarked on this odd circumstance with Director Brandy Forbes before the event and she gazed around the room but didn’t remark to agree or disagree.
