State to Beth Russo on budget sabotage: forgettaboutit!

The city’s auditor in a letter to the City Council has extended a list of problems communicated from the State on the Hoboken budget needing adjusting.  The letter outlines the problems and states any budget amendment will need to be completed in July nixing the depletion of the city’s surplus by Council members Beth Mason and Mike Russo.

There’s no reason to hold a meeting on the 29th hours before Councilman Nino Giacchi’s term expires.  No reason now at all.

Talking Ed Note: Doesn’t seem possible for Beth Mason to force feed the poison into the system by Friday ending her hopes to leave the city coffers empty of any surplus to handle any challenges. Read More...

Scott Delea’s Party of Purpose: Scott Delea

=&0=&

MILE SQUARE VIEW EXCLUSIVE

Scott Delea is a Hoboken resident with a dream.  His dream aims for elected office and likely higher office.  That he would  throw away cursory reform cred having joined Hoboken Revolt’s board, a pillar of Reform electing Dawn Zimmer and a new majority City Council may have surprised some keen observers but not many.

Delea threw down for the backing of Reform’s largest enemy, Russo-Mason and their poker table gang who are likely to face the full might of the Boys of Summer at the FBI in Newark before the season’s out.  What he calculated was the winning team taking him to elected heights, or so he thought.  Delea had made those twists before having backed the heavy money behind Dave Roberts against Carol Marsh for mayor in 2005 when he made his first of three bids for a City Council seat.  The betting money with this throw of the die is coming up craps, perhaps in consecutive throws. Save the hospital! The anti-Appleseed/Hoboken411/Mason petition edition

The chatter about stopping the sale of Hoboken University Medical Center to HUMC Holdco continues with a politically orchestrated petition following some circumspect phone calls to residents the Hudson Reporter described as coming from one of the unions at the hospital.

Now Hoboken resident Scott Siegel has produced a counter petition to the one pushed by Appleseed.  The Appleseed petition was sent to an odd list including Hoboken411 but not two Hoboken City Council members on the reform side of the ledger. Read More...

Riders on the Storm… coming soon to a crook near you

This week will prove interesting in several aspects.  Premium content is completed this month but there’s work continuing on several investigations and you’ll see it sooner than later in July after the 4th of July weekend.

One investigation will not be behind the wall; there’s more coming on Scott Delea who is not getting any pass from MSV.  Is it Monday yet?  We’re ready and loaded.

The silence before the storm may be coming to an end shortly as the “Riders on the Storm,” start seeing action from our friends in Newark, the Boys of Summer.  We have whispers to report and we’re not going to keep you waiting much longer.  MSV is concerned the bombs may start falling before we share them with you.  Can’t let that happen. NJ PBA vows to take pension and healthcare reform to court

The bill changing NJ government workers’ contributions to their healthcare and pension plan is not even signed into law by Governor Christie and NJ PBA President Anthony Wieners is promising to challenge the provision in court.

Yesterday the announcement stated the basis for the challenge is the rules of collective bargaining and the constitutionality of the State acting outside those existing agreements.

Davy James writing for Hoboken Patch posted a story with more details:

Statement from Mayor Zimmer on the Passage of Pension & Benefit Reform

Office of the Mayor announces:

This week, the State Legislature passed a bi-partisan pension and benefit reform bill that is critically important to both our State and our City.  This bill goes a long way toward ensuring that public employees will get the benefits they were promised while establishing reasonable health insurance co-pays fair to both taxpayers and workers.    I want to thank Senate President Steve Sweeney and Assembly Majority Leader Sheila Oliver for their leadership. They rose above partisan interest group politics and demonstrated that fiscal responsibility remains a core value of our Democratic Party.    Read More...

Gov. Christie leads bipartisan effort for fiscal sanity but Hoboken faces near term peril with law

Update:  The NJ State Assembly after hours of meetings and debate easily passed the legislation for reforming contributions by state workers in healthcare and pensions.

The actions means a change where the state’s fiscal life became important enough to address the cost of government employees.  It also makes New Jersey a model for the rest of the country as other states face similar problems.  Unlike others, NJ elected officials didn’t abandon their responsibility and run away from the financial problem when it didn’t suit a narrow special interest. Beth Mason begins mayoral run with 2nd ward election celebration – in the 5th ward Fox Hills senior building

It’s not official but resident public space is being booked in the Fox Hills senior building for a celebration.  The celebration is Beth Mason’s throwing herself a party for her 2nd ward re-election in the 5th ward!  She’s calling it an inaugural party.

The practice of booking space for a political purpose, in this case an obvious kickoff for the 2013 mayoral race certainly falls outside the lines for the government building but there may be a loophole.  A certain brotherly tag team from the 4th ward involved in local election dirty tricks has their grandmother in the building and are using her as the means for the Beth Mason entry. Scourge of the local Hoboken internet or a certain Mason411 friend????

Last month someone pointed out to MSV a new voice on the local scene making its presence known (and that’s an understatement) on the NJ.com Hoboken forum.  Of course we’re talking about a certain diamond in the rough.  The new moniker, bludiamonds has entered the Hoboken political landscape like a freight train, gaining lots of attention and even a glorious salute recently on Grafix Avenger.

So what is this less than shiny diamond espousing?  Well it appears to be a parody of one Beth Mason shill, someone who is not paid to be her friend but consistently repeats her party line (when not writing it for her) all over local Hoboken websites in his 100 screen names and on her favorite website as the chief credentialed smearing ghostwriter at Hoboken411. Is imprisoned ex-mayor Peter Cammarano singing like a canary?

Based on an obscure reference on the NJ.com Hoboken forum, Grafix Avenger wonders if the note there by one Iago Jones saying he’s shaved off three months of his sentence is true?

But Iago may have only stumbled onto part of the truth.  Grafix Avenger verifies his stay in one federal Pennsylvania abode is in fact shaved almost a full third from his original 24 month sentence.

That was fast.

For more on the felon soon to be returning to his loyal corrupt followers in 2012:=&0=& =&1=& A third off the sentence sounds like more than good behavior. Then again two years facing twenty sounded like one hell of a deal too.  Sing Petey boy, sing! Photo courtesy the Hoboken Journal
