Councilman Russo meets his own words on tape

At the last City Council meeting, Councilman Michael Russo worked himself into a lather, his face got red, and the Church Towers contingent brought down by Ma “five-buck-a-tow” Russo were dancing and yelling in the aisles with his attacks on Mayor Zimmer where he called her a grifter.

After Ma and the neighbors went home, public portion brought to light some comment on his less than savory behavior and that accountability thingy from a January meeting held at the hospital.

As stated by MSV at the end of the last council meeting, Michael Russo stated the Hoboken Municipal Hospital Authority (HMHA) did not have the ability to legally sell the hospital.  Although media was present, it was stunning to see no one even mention this in any stories after the meeting. Jen Giattino thanks community volunteers in clean up effort

Greetings from Jen Giattino for City Council

From the desk of 6th ward Councilwoman Jen Giattino:

  Dear Friends and Neighbors,

I am happy to report that the second

Clean It Up Hoboken Day was another success!

On Sunday, October 2nd residents from
all over Hoboken came out to clean up
our city.

I would like to personally thank the 20+
volunteers (both adults and children) that helped me in the 6th Ward.

I am so lucky to be part of such a caring community.

The original Clean It Up Hoboken Day was organized to raise community awareness about an ordinance against the distribution and postings of handbills, flyers, and circulars on utility poles, signs, & other public spaces.

This was a big issue in Hoboken. However since then, the postings & distributions of these advertisements have greatly decreased. Read More...

Staying to finish the job in New Jersey

Governor Chris Christie as expected announced outside his office he would not be jumping in for the Republican nomination earlier today.

Saying he has work left to do, he did not rule out future consideration for any job including President.

Talking Ed Note: One Old Guard stalwart at City Hall remarked to Da Horsey a month ago, he wished Chris Christie would run for President and “get out of here.”

At that time, our reply was we wanted him to stay and finish the job.  However, there appears to be a lack of political courage to tackle the big issues at the national level.  President Obama declined to act on the recommendations of a committee to reduce the national debt.  His jobs program scoffed at by most analysts has been tabled by his own Democratic allies in Congress. Gov. Christie press conference set for 1:00 today

The Governor may have made a decision on whether to jump into the Presidential race and if so, he may tell us today at a 1:00 pm press conference.

On another note, a source close to high levels at the hospital has stated the court hearing will be delayed again this week with negotiations yet underway.

Yes, there’s horsey fans all over NJ and we are confident with this one unconfirmed source. Read More...

Join the Stable

Da Horsey recently celebrated its two year anniversary serving our fine metropolis.  Now that the hoof is thoroughly wet and with anticipated busy tidings ahead due to our federal guests, it’s time to focus on offsetting costs of time and money.

MSV is looking to add features such as podcasts and revenue becomes necessary to take the vision to the next level much as other websites like the Young Turks.

If you don’t take a little responsibility in keeping the endeavor going than you can always suffer with the pathology of lies from Hoboken/Mason411 and senior editors who don’t live here and have other interests distinctly varied from your own. Read More...

Horse Sense: With time running out, the answer from Gov. Christie on a presidential run must be yes

Gov. Chris Christie finds himself in a unique position.  He’s late to the big dance to seek the Republican nomination but the nation’s dour mood plummets and Americans wonder where the bottom is with the worst economy since President Jimmy Carter. As the Governor considers the odds, the will and the logistics to run, his largest advantage is balanced almost equally by the creeping if not racing calendar.

It’s a battle of leadership vs. the primary’s receding timetables.  Gov. Christie, love him or hate him exudes the leadership Americans crave.  He’s taken on the big tasks with gusto and a bluntness surprising even by New Jersey standards. Read More...

Arrested for Election Fraud?

In New Jersey, there’s no such thing as shocking when it comes to elected officials and crossing over the velvet line of the law.  Fans of the Prohibition Era HBO Show “Boardwalk Empire” saw how fiction past meets reality today when yesterday’s episode had one political insider locked up for election fraud.

Steve Buscemi plays the role of Nucky Thompson, the man behind the scenes who controls Atlantic City.  He’s the guy running the Boardwalk Empire.  In the episode he says, he’s going to beat the rap.  Have you heard others saying the same thing of late? Amazing thing about history; those who fail to learn repeat it.  Happens all the time.

Mike Russo on the hospital and wetting your beak

Here’s yet another tape, this one with comic genius attached.

Soul Patch from Greg Bond on Vimeo.

Talking Ed Note: This clip features Councilman Mike Russo’s words from the last City Council meeting during the discussion on the introduction of a bond to aid the sale of the hospital.  It was KOA (Killed on Arrival) by the Beth Russo hydra.

Russo was vehemently against considering the introduction of a bond to benefit the hospital’s sale and said he was doing this on behalf of the taxpayers. But he doesn’t do anything for the taxpayers, doesn’t pay taxes and most of his 3rd ward supporters don’t pay Hoboken taxes either as they live in subsidized housing. Read More...

Rewind: Gov. Christie on state hospital aid

In May of last year, Hoboken was honored to host Governor Chris Christie as he launched his program to help municipalities gain control over property taxes.  During a Q&A, he took questions from the audience.  One member of the City Council refused to sit on the stage with the Governor instead taking the microphone and peppering the Governor with several questions.  (Other members of the public settled for one but they aren’t you know, undeclared counte$$’.)

Here’s a segment of that clip on the State’s increasing aid to New Jersey hospitals.  Gov. Christie corrects the record of a certain Hoboken Councilwoman who claims the State cut that aid. Read More...
