Mayor Zimmer campaign on “Overcoming Nastiness”

The re-elect Mayor Zimmer campaign announces:

Blog      Volunteer      Contribute
Dear Horsey & MSV readers —

Unfortunately my opponents are at it yet again, launching nasty and false attacks against the Zimmer Team just three weeks before the election.  As usual, the purpose of the attacks are to confuse the public and to obstruct our ability to get things done for the people of Hoboken.

We have accomplished all that we have over the past four years, like saving our hospital, improving our parks and cutting taxes because we have not let our opponents’ antics stop us, and we will not let their antics stop us going forward.
Their latest target is my good friend and running mate, Councilman Ravi Bhalla.  The attacks are particularly reprehensible because they are not just the usual election season nonsense.  They are a direct and knowingly false assault on Ravi’s integrity, his outstanding reputation in our community, and even his professional career as a well-regarded attorney at one of New Jersey’s finest law firms, Florio Perrucci. Council President Cunningham’s Memo provides an excellent overview of the facts.

The bottom line is they are attacking our team because they desperately want to win a Council seat and stop Hoboken’s progress.
Last night we saw just how devastating that would be for our City.  Four Council members sided with LCOR, a developer, and voted AGAINST our ordinance to protect Hoboken residents and businesses from flooding and the skyrocketing flood insurance costs. Here’s my letter  to the Council and NJ Transit on the importance of this legislation for Hoboken residents.

Both of my opponents’ records on the Hoboken City Council clearly demonstrate that they will side with the developers every time against the interests of Hoboken residents.  If we want to protect our treasured waterfront, if we want to bring balanced development, if we want to comprehensively protect Hoboken from the flooding, then we NEED the ENTIRE Zimmer Team now more than ever.

In 2007 and 2009 we overcame the nasty campaign tactics and achieved incredible results for our City.  Together, let’s keep that positive change going.  We need your help to once again overcome the destructive campaign tactics and make sure that the Zimmer team of Councilman Ravi Bhalla, Councilman David Mello, Council-candidate James Doyle, and myself all win this election.

If you love the direction Hoboken is headed with the Zimmer Team then please stop by our headquarters at 98 Garden to pick up a window sign, volunteer, or find out more ways you can get involved! The future of our City rests with the Zimmer Team winning this election and we need your help to make sure this happens!

Bet’s Back!

All the mayhem, all the falsehoods, all the dirty dealing and plain ole nastiness plotting against the Hobroken people is back!

MSV’s singular hit, “Downfall of a Wannabe Shark,” the satirical 2010 original short is back for your viewing pleasure. Since that time, it’s been viewed tens of thousands of times and with the election around the corner it’s aging better then fine wine.

After last week’s exposure of the “Raavee Affair” here and on Grafix Avenger, there’s new readers (and new voters) who may enjoy seeing history repeat itself. Read More...

Slander, Rev. Al, Carmelo Garcia and Vision Money/Money

Is there a lawyer available to help Mr. Carmelo Garcia on the law regarding slander?
Mr. Garcia showed up in public portion with what appeared to be his lawyer.

Here he begins his remarks in public portion to the City Council with an attack on Da Horsey and alleges the appearance  of harassment “as he normally does in his coward ways,” before he was stopped by the Council President from continuing in that line of attack.

Garcia would later morph into a bad imitation of Rev. Al Sharpton knowing full well his demands and credibility are not at zero but below zero.  Later in the New Business portion, Councilman Michael Russo would allude to similar baseless charges. Read More...

The sound and the fury of Perry Belfiore

Hoboken politico Perry Belfiore kicked off public portion with a bang refusing to surrender the microphone after five minutes and being escorted by not one but two Hoboken Police Officers after ranting and yelling well beyond the allotted time.

With the last City Council meeting before the Hoboken November 5th municipal elections, the crowd was filled with political operatives and Belfiore sought to do the most damage to aid his candidate, Assemblyman Ruben Ramos.

It was not a good result.

Belfiore sometimes humorous can be pointed and focused.  On this occasion he was not clearly misplacing facts on a counsel contract for the Hoboken Housing Authority and as his five minutes expired he announced he would not be surrendering the microphone until the police took him away. Threats, a fight and “vote-by-mail payments are illegal”

Ramos backer David Liebler details alleged encounter with Occhipinti campaign manager Jamie Cryan

The bad blood between campaigns bled over outside the political arena when Ramos campaign supporter David Liebler alleged an encounter on Washington Street yesterday with the campaign manager for the Raia-Mason slate Jamie Cryan.

Cryan who is friends with Tim Occhipinti, the occupant of the fourth ward seat once held by Assemblyman Ruben Ramos, ran his controversial 2010 special election fourth ward campaign. Cryan was contacted for his version of events early this morning. For the moment here’s David Liebler detailing his account and complaining to Tim Occhipinti for “stabbing” Ruben Ramos in the back. Flash mob @ City Council tonight @ 7:00?

Part I:

Video streaming by Ustream

Part II:

Video streaming by Ustream

Tonight’s City Council meeting is the finale before the November 5th mayoral and council at-large election.  Meaning there will be some hard objects and harsh words flying around.

There’s also a last desperate bid on tap to attack the mayor by a rabid group of directed Carmelitos rumored to be in the offing.

You may have heard about the coordinated political attacks orchestrated by Councilwoman Beth Mason and her Old Guard political operatives coordinated with local media – what MSV has previously deemed the Mason Media Complex.  All this noise is a mere web of lies wrapped around smoke with not a dime benefitting either Councilman Ravi Bhalla who is up for election in November or his new employer Florio Perrucci.  (The firm is not pursuing any new work with the City of Hoboken and has none ongoing whatsoever.) There has been lots of buying and actual selling in Hoboken but not solely for legal goods and services. There’s offices such as the former Hoboken municipal prosecutor and “journalists” who put themselves on the market and/or put their wares up for sale to the highest bedder, bidder.  Questions of when monies were cashed, under what circumstances is a murky swamp these hooves don’t swim in. Yet. It’s not that they so readily sell out this community; it’s they are so willing to do so… so cheaply. The relentless fabrications what Beth Mason herself incorrectly calls defamation against Councilman Ravi Bhalla are disgraceful but the attacks on Corporation Counsel Mellisa Longo by the Masonista sponsored Hoboken411 are a new low. Hey, that’s how Beth Mason rolls. She’s been doing this to people directly and indirectly by her paid surrogates for years.  (See bludiamonds.)  Rather then turning a blind eye, Da Horsey locked in on this game back in 2009  in a Horse Sense editorial.

The media cover is a “he said, she said,” blind eye form of non-journalism. It allows the monied and unprincipled to “get out their message” and do personal, political if not professional harm to others.  All an editor needs to do is deem it newsworthy. Read More...

The return of bludiamonds, Counte$$, her racism and “b.s.”

The following email was sent yesterday by Councilwoman Beth Mason to Council President Peter Cunningham and numerous local media sources.

A guest piece from bludiamonds with an intimate relationship not as a political operative with the Mason Media Complex obtained the email from an uptown based media friend and issued this guest piece announcing its resignation over the sordid Old Guard “Raavee Affair.”

The below email is true and original minus one city employee change:
