Nurse’s Union alienates itself from creditors committee, moves to obtain documents from the group unrelated to bankruptcy settlement

In a political move likely isolating itself, the attorneys working on behalf of the HUMC nurse’s union acted to obtain depositions and other documents unrelated to the bankruptcy case from the creditors committee Saturday.

The move comes after expectations of a settlement with the creditors was announced as close Friday and highly anticipated this weekend. According to a story on NJ.com, the Hospital Authority has turned over 200,000 pages of related documents from emails to financial information to the creditors committee. The hospital nurse’s union, JNESO is bypassing discovery by making the request to their colleagues on the creditors committee and not, according to attorneys representing the Hospital Authority, from them.

The story outlines how the Hospital Authority may respond to this action:

Councilwoman Beth Mason has been working with the nurse’s union and spoke on their behalf against Hoboken taxpayers at the last City Council meeting saying the nurse’s union were not made whole as creditors while the bond holders re: Hoboken taxpayers, (a secured creditor) would be.  She’s also worked with an outside agency Appleseed where earlier questions on the hospital sale were linked directly to Hoboken411.  Mason stated Wednesday night she does not “own or control” the website she calls “a news source.” Read More...

While Hoboken awaits word on the hospital, here’s some comic relief brought to you courstesy of Reformerus Giganticus.

In part 1, Perry of Hobroken411 gets an assignment from his sponsor Bet Mazin who of course is innocent of what transpires as she doesn’t own or control him.

Show him the money Bet!

In Part 2, Perry gets another call but he seems more preoccupied with imbibing than carrying out his marching orders.

Hospital sale on standby

Since the late Friday announcement by Mayor Dawn Zimmer a settlement with the creditors committee was close, the hospital situation is simmering.

MSV like others is hopeful there will be more positive news today as Sunday passed with no anticipated update.

Talking Ed Note: Bitterness is intermingling with falsehoods on local boards as those who were already pointing the finger of blame with one hand, were giddy over the efforts to sabotage the hospital sale with the other like the Beth Russo hydra. Read More...

“We love the FBI in Hoboken” now over 100 members

A Facebook site touting its love for one federal law enforcement agency has reached a benchmark going into triple digit territory.  The group “We love the FBI in Hoboken,” is an open group accepting new members who love having the Federal Bureau of Investigation in town.

Among recent topics are “where are they a year later,” a November 2nd event planned for Northern Soul revisiting a get together to reflect on a record setting amount of alleged absentee ballot fraud by the Tim Occhipinti campaign.

Reports of 500 ballots submitted with well over that in paid ‘campaign workers’ gave relative unknown Tim “I’m Independent” Occhipinti a victory over incumbent Michael Lenz, a political heavyweight who was a member of an alliance of reform minded council members implementing Mayor Dawn Zimmer’s agenda for tax relief and a brand of honest government.

Other member posts highlight the purchase of FBI hats, an article on the mayor acting properly to invite the FBI in to review illegal data theft in the city’s computers systems and the battle by certain City Council members to ruin the FBI’s investigation.

HUMC status: next update Sunday

Office of the Mayor announces:

Update from Mayor Zimmer on Hoboken University Medical Center

Late Thursday night, the Creditors Committee, through its representatives, communicated the economic terms that it required to complete an agreement.  Today, the Creditors Committee was presented with a revised settlement proposal that fully satisfies those economic terms.

The Creditors Committee is continuing to review the new settlement offer and has indicated that it will not be in a position to provide any further comments until Sunday.  I recognize that the uncertainty created by this delay is difficult for everyone, especially HUMC employees, but given that the Creditors Committee’s financial requirements have been fully met I am optimistic that a final agreement will ultimately be reached.   Read More...

An announced agreement among the creditors committee, a group discussing accepting an improved offer would remove the last obstacle for the hospital sale of HUMC.

The mayor declined to detail the improved offer only stating it did not come from the State or the City of Hoboken. Read More...

Grist for the Mill: The Big Man comes back to town

Governor Chris Christie may not be  present in Hoboken, but he might as well be based on the impact of the Governor’s statement in Hoboken yesterday.  People across the political spectrum were buoyed by his storming the Hoboken beach head: and Normandy is the emergency entrance at the hospital on Willow Street.

Official statements serve lots of purposes to illustrate, educate and inform but this one was more like an M-1 Abrams arriving on the scene and letting a round fly, it’s trajectory arced and aimed right at the heart of the Beth Russo hydra and striking their patrons at the hospital union.
