MSV has been getting emails since last week asking the same question. Where is Scott Delea’s complete campaign report? Every major candidate submitted their campaign reports to NJ ELEC around the due date of May 31. So compliance in Hoboken with the law has been good.
More trouble with the law? Now Scott Delea is on the inside looking out not complying with NJ ELEC. Campaign reports were due the end of May but who is responsible for the Delea ELEC report? It certainly can’t be Scott; it must be someone else lacking integrity and honesty.
Of course there remains another possible reason connected to the outstanding issue with missing attachments in Councilwoman Beth Mason’s campaign report. She has a whopping $52,000 in street money on it and no one knows what is in it or where it went. MSV is looking into the report and can only wonder what could possibly be in that torrent of street funds let loose in the 2nd ward.
More problems with the law? Scott Delea is following in the footsteps
of backer Maurice Fitzgibbons who was fined for ELEC violations.
As important, what’s up with Scott Delea’s report and why is it so very, very MIA?
What is being hidden from the public here? MSV believes at least part of the answer lies in the thousands of home mailers sent to 5th ward residents with MSV’s photo the centerpiece.
Who was responsible for the mailer with Scott Delea’s picture, his home address and MSV’s copyrighted information?
Ironically, a backer of Scott Delea, former Freeholder Maurice Fitzgibbons, the man who brought you Peter Cammarano and Tim “I’m independent” Occhipinti also had problems with meeting ELEC filing requirements. He was fined for it about a year back and Scott Delea is following in his footsteps.
If someone files a complaint against Scott Delea for his failure, no doubt they are sure to receive an email outlining how busy he’s been running for election, working his job and all the good things he does for the community. Does that entitle him to a free pass?
MSV has seen that record played out for almost two months now on Scott Delea’s copyright infringement. Oh but how he loves to leave it on repeat.
6-11 Scott Delea’s theft – Stealing with a Purpose
Scott Delea is holding out hope taking zero responsibility for his 5th ward election mailer using MSV’s copyrighted material – without consent or any compensation. His official legal position finally came in yesterday claiming uncertainty “how you plan on proving the matter.” This came from his lawyer who conducted a similar passive aggressive action as his client hiding out for weeks before finally admitting he’s even representing Scott “Mr. Integrity” Delea and taking a position.
MSV’s original photo was distributed to thousands by Scott Delea in his candidate mailer in May.
If a District Judge evaluating copyright infringement needs proof, Scott’s home address
is printed right on the bottom of the flier as its origin.
Hoboken did itself justice in backing Councilman Peter Cunningham. You won’t agree with anyone 100% of the time but you know where he stands. MSV finds him to be the exact tonic Hoboken needs and it was distressing to see MSV’s work used against him by Scott Delea in his third failed bid to obtain a City Council seat.
As important, Scott Delea is known for not giving straight answers and joined in with the Old Guard crowd getting the backing of Beth Mason and Mike Russo. He of course did that in his special don’t pin me down publicly kind of way while declaring himself all that Hoboken rage in recent elections, “independent.”
What does Scott Delea do for a living? He works in online marketing. Yeah, a district judge on a copyright infringement case will believe he doesn’t know anything about using copyrighted material.
MSV is doing some additional investigation on the slippery when dry Scott Delea. The people who know him in town have been whispering their misgivings about him for some time, from his inability to give straight answers about himself, to his BoE shopping among slates for a seat, to the to the recently deceased Judy Tripodi who was less than enamored with his fundraising (and turning over the money.)
Talking Ed Note: We’ve actually met Scott Delea’s lawyer who is the husband of 2009 mayoral candidate and former municipal judge Kim Glatt. He’s a nice guy and no doubt trying to best represent his client. Proof? Well MSV is asking 5th ward residents to email us that they received the flier Scott Delea sent out in May. We’ll also take copies of same. (We emailed a copy to Delea’s lawyer in case he didn’t see the bad news yet.)
Our lawyers are confident Scott Delea will have a problem explaining all this to a judge and be handed the bill for the entire matter including our attorneys fees. (Jay, my guys get paid first!) Send the email to email@example.com
Update: Scott Delea has not filed his 20 day post ELEC report. One person who knows this arena well in Hoboken said “they all need to wait for Beth Mason to file hers.”
Beth Mason hasn’t filed either!
Scott Delea time to man up on copyright theft
Update: After a week of silence (again) from Scott Delea “looking into” the copyright theft with his “people,” he finally got back and replied to the last email which included an invoice saying MSV will receive a reply from his attorney.
He never got back on several requests asking how many mailers for his commercial enterprise of seeking the 5th ward council seat.
So while the theft of MSV copyright material is not going away, we can at least say Scott Delea if not manning up, he’s lawyering up with a purpose.
Someone should tell Scott Delea that the integrity claim he makes is going to have a little problem when a District Court gets a filing on his lack of same.
Once filed, it’s going on his permanent record.
One thing MSV can say admirable about Scott Delea here. Some people describe others slippery when wet but Scott when caught red handed stealing from MSV is slippery when dry. Hoboken should take note.
For those who thought otherwise, this is the true face of “Mr. Integrity,” Scott Delea.

Scott Delea man of integrity. Scott Delea man of honesty. Scott Delea man of the community. Scott Delea man of copyright theft?
Well after one brief conversation where Mr. Scott Delea reaffirmed he will look into the copyright theft from this website, it’s gotten really quiet again. MSV has made several requests on how many mailers went out with our Peter Cunningham photo.
Not to worry Scott, if you don’t man up we have a good idea where it’s heading.
Scott Delea soon to be manning up in his new abode; Prison with a Purpose
