The rumor of Pearson SLC coming to Hoboken with State incentives totaling $84 million is confirmed based on a CBS radio report today showing hundreds of the jobs will be moving to lower Manhattan too.

The move from Upper Saddle River anticipated for summer 2014 will split its employees between New York City and Hoboken.  Of 1300 jobs, 700 will be coming to the Mile Square city.

Pearson will be leaving its Saddle River corporate setting for New York and Hoboken. Hoboken will see the majority of the jobs arrive here.

Hoboken feels like its in suspended animation on the outcome of its hospital sale.  The crux of the matter seems to some to be beyond comprehension – Hoboken University Medical Center is on a respirator and needs a transfusion to see its health restored.  Only the finalization of a sale to the highest bidder, Holdco’s $91.7 million will see it through.

Due to Hoboken’s constant electioneering environment, the fuel added to this bubbling over toxic brew is causing the kettle’s flames to dance ever brighter and higher.  The added ingredient is money: specifically $34 million owed to creditors including one attorney who was counsel to the hospital’s management arm and a union local that is infuriated to see itself on the creditors list in seven figures. If you thought you’d seen it all with a late flurry to save the hospital and Hoboken taxpayers from a $52 million bond liability, you must not have checked your mailbox.  Mayor-in-exile Councilwoman Beth Mason opted to take her screed of fabrications on the pending sale of the hospital from email right to your mailbox.

If you missed it the first time, she wants you to know:

• a lawyer who sat quiet on the management board of the hospital during $20+ million losses years earlier claims he was bullied on a fraudulent bankruptcy and it’s the unfounded accusations now that you should value
• her favorite website has more “news” with its iron hand of censorship of which she generously approves and content she controls you should believe 
• the mayor is backing a re-election bid for Gov. Christie even though one doesn’t exist
• Holdco’s financing deal to keep the hospital a hospital is not true, it’s really a sale to a out of state “developer” – with making more condos their goal.

In doing so Mason shows she’s all in for one last bid to muddy, stall and possibly kill the sale to Bayonne’s Holdco and see the hospital close.  All in the apparent belief she’s finally found a silver bullet to kill her nemesis, Mayor Dawn Zimmer, who handily trounced her in two mayoral elections in 2009.  Ambition and revenge trumps saving the biggest Hoboken employer and a $52 million bond over the heads of the Hoboken taxpayer, but that’s how Mason rolls. =&0=& =&1=& =&2=&Hoboken Municipal Hospital Authority (HMHA) is pleased that HUMC Holdco, LLC (Holdco), the buyer in the pending sale of Hoboken University Medical Center (HUMC), has announced an agreement with Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey.  The transaction will allow HUMC to remain a participating provider in the Blue Cross Blue Shield network following Holdco’s acquisition of HUMC, which is expected to be completed later this month. “It is great news for patients to have HUMC continue as an in-network provider with Horizon,” says HMHA Chairperson Toni Tomarazzo.  “This is one of the many issues for which HMHA has diligently advocated in the pending sale of HUMC to ensure the continuation of hospital services and maintain the long term viability of the hospital.  HMHA remains committed to finalizing the sale to Holdco.”
