Tonight’s City Council meeting shouldn’t be long and one looming issue is the 2% ordinary budget transfer MORTe has turned into a circus with Hoboken’s firefighters pay on the line with the third, count it third attempt to complete the simple task.
With MORTe claiming the need for additional information to allow a budget transfer to go through, the Mayor has written to the City Council letting them know any questions will be gladly answered in advance of the meeting and they should submit them so the Business Administrator Arch Liston can address it with adequate time BEFORE the meeting.

Yesterday MSV’s traffic shows there’s a voracious appetite for what’s about to befall Hoboken or rather the justice that’s about to strike harder than the hammer of Thor, courtesy of the Boys (and girls) of summer.
As many grew impatient through the summer months winding into fall, the Feds were not sitting idly by. Based on the latest volley, a source offering some deep dish on Grafix Avenger predicts “major headlines.”
Here’s a sampling of the source’s insight:
Back in the 1980s, an up and coming prosecutor named Rudy Giuliani was looking to make a name for himself and later enter into New York City’s political fray. Then the US Attorney from New York, Giuliani used RICO, the Racketeer-Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act to take down fraud in the securities industry, the most successful case being against Michael Milken at Drexel.
The expanded use of the original 1970 law was controversial but one couldn’t argue with the results. Using RICO, the government was successful in a number of instances, ridding criminal enterprises from the Fulton Fish Market, the garment industry and taking down whole swaths of organized crime families in New York City.
What does this mean for the FBI’s (initial) targets in their ongoing investigation?

Unrelated: Grafix Avenger posted a blind item and the only thing Da Horsey knows is it’s wholly unrelated to our story. It does show the Fed heat is most definitely on Hoboken. One nut is confirmed cracked.

In one council meeting, she had remarked, “The mayor hates Hoboken.” MORTe did everything to sabotage the sale saving the hospital. Add this Hoboken success as another reason for them to hate the mayor. MORTe took no responsibility for their attempts to derail the sale and in the end claimed they saved it. |
The sense of deja vu was present in an event seemingly long in coming; HUMC celebrated its successful transition under Bayonne HUMC with a host of local, county and state officials on hand to share in the success.
On hand not just new owners and CEO Phil Scheangold but the Acting Governor Kim Guadagno who expressed her great pleasure at being at the important event and stood in on behalf of the State and Governor Chris Christie who is traveling.
The Lt. Governor noted among the day’s important events in New Jersey, Gov. Christie would have wished to attend as did Hoboken Municipal Authority Chair Toni Tomarazzo.
With all the Occupy “I wanna park illegally” noise cavorting on the Hoboken blogosphere, one would think there’s nothing more important in Hoboken than a valiant battle waged to park in bus stops, on yellow lines and by hydrants to create the mother of all distractions.
Grafix Avenger notes the stupendous failure to get the Occupy HP off the ground and the utter loony ravings of the dwindling Mason fringe who seem to have collectively lost their medication at the same time within the last couple of days.

A suspect story appearing on Hoboken Patch about a shadowy Facebook page, Occupy Hoboken Parking is becoming a tad more interesting with its anonymous “Hoboken mom” and some other shady Masonic figures coming in from the cold.
