Horsey & MSV readers —

I want to send you a quick note to update you on some exciting news.
I am thrilled to report that the City of Hoboken now owns the one acre of land that will be the start of a new larger Southwest park. Together with Councilman Mello and many other committed Southwest residents, I started fighting for this park many years ago as a citizen activist, so I know how important this is to the residents of the Southwest and all of Hoboken.

As many of you know, the fight to make sure that everyone in Hoboken is within walking distance to a park has not been easy. After years of work in parks organizations, on the city council and now as Mayor, I am thrilled that we are able to move forward on this critical project. For David, Jim, Ravi and me, this is not just another park, but proves what we can do as a community when we work together to improve everyone’s quality of life.

We’ve already started the process of planning the new park and we’d love to get your ideas. Fill out this questionnaire to let the City’s planners know your thoughts.
On another front, on Monday, the New Jersey Laborers Unions announced they are supporting  the entire Zimmer Team in November’s election. This is big news! Help us by spreading the word:

Thank you to the Laborers for recognizing my work and the work of my council team.

The Zimmer Team wants to keep working for you! With less than a month until Hobokenites head to the polls, we need your help. We want to make sure all of Hoboken knows that we are the ticket that will Lead Hoboken Forward.
Together we can prove that grassroots, community involvement and hard work will win! Sign up to join us this Sunday for canvassing in Hoboken.

Thanks for all you do,
Mayor Dawn Zimmer
