Italian American One Voice Coalition presenting award to Mayor Zimmer this Wednesday before City Council meeting

ITALIAN AMERICAN ONE VOICE COALITION TO PRESENT “UNA VOCE” AWARD TO HOBOKEN MAYOR DAWN ZIMMER ON WEDNESDAY
Hoboken—The Italian American ONE VOICE Coalition, led by President Andre’ DiMino, will present its “Una Voce” award to Hoboken Mayor Dawn Zimmer this Wednesday night before the City Council meeting at City Hall for her stance in preventing “Jersey Shore” from filming in public in the Mile Square City.
“MTV’s Jersey Shore has been a blight on the State of New Jersey as well as an insult to all Italian Americans,” DiMino noted. “Why would any community want to be associated with the bad acts, lewdness, inebriation, violence-against-women, crudeness and other garbage spewed by this trash programming.  Mayor Zimmer, in contrast to her counterpart in Jersey City, has done the right thing for Hoboken and should be commended.”
“Our organization is in a constant battle against the continued, and actually, accelerating stereotyping and denigration of Italian Americans,” DiMino added. “The explosion of horrendous reality shows, like Jersey Shore, Mob Wives and others, as well as the constant depiction of Italian Americans in mainstream programming as criminals, mobsters, bimbos and buffoons, is disgraceful and unacceptable.  We have objected to Jersey Shore and its disgraceful ilk since before its debut and we will continue to do so.”
