Tiffanie Fisher City Council bid launch event draws over 65 supporters

Attendees included Hoboken Mayor Dawn Zimmer and City Council President Ravinder Singh Bhalla

Hoboken, NJ – Tiffanie Fisher announced today that she drew over 65 supporters to her campaign kickoff event on September 17. In attendance were Hoboken Mayor Dawn Zimmer and Hoboken City Council President Ravinder Singh Bhalla. Tiffanie is running for Hoboken City Council representing the 2nd Ward.

In a statement after the event, Bhalla said “Proud to support Tiffanie Fisher for 2nd Ward City Council – kickoff was a hit!” This follows his comments on September 12, expressing support for Tiffanie’s campaign: “As a former 2nd Ward resident, I have known Tiffanie for years. She has a solid track record of community service and leadership in the 2nd Ward, which desperately needs real representation. Tiffanie is intelligent, thoughtful and committed to the best interests of our community in Hoboken.”

In remarks made at the event, Tiffanie thanked those who helped her make her decision to run, including Zimmer, Bhalla and her 2nd ward neighbors with whom she has already been working on important issues facing Hoboken, including irresponsible development and pedestrian safety.

Reiterating her commitment to Hoboken and why she is running for City Council, Tiffanie said: “The public should never be the underdog. Residents should have a strong voice in important issues. That’s why I led the fights against the Applied Company’s proposed Monarch at Shipyard project and for the installation of the stop sign at the intersection of 15th and Bloomfield Streets. I believe in actively engaging with, informing and advocating on behalf of the residents of Hoboken’s 2nd Ward on the issues that matter most.  I am committed to continuing to work to ensure that Hoboken remains a great place for my neighbors to call their home.”

Elections for Hoboken City Council will be held November 3. 2015. Tiffanie is 1E on the ballot.
