Only 34 votes
From the desk of Councilman Ravi Bhalla:
Dear Friends & Neighbors,
Only 34 votes. This was the difference in last year’s election for the Hoboken school board. For a year now, that number, 34, has stuck in my head. I think about how much of a difference a single vote can make in the outcome of an election.
Yesterday, we set our clocks back one hour. Tomorrow, we risk setting our schools back 10 years if we do not come out in large numbers and support the Forward Together team (1-2-4) of Jen Evans, Sheillah Dallara, and Irene Sobolov.
We often hear platitudes from politicians claiming that “every vote counts” and “make your voice heard”. But in this election for school board, it’s actually true! The results of last year’s election truly proves that every vote does count in local electins, and you have the ability to make a difference at the ballot box.
As one of your Council Members, one thing I have learned is that in order for government to truly serve the people, you need honest, dedicated and talented residents to step up to the plate and run for public office. Jen, Sheillah and Irene are all of those things and we are fortunate that they are willing to serve our schools and continue the progress.
Here is what you can do to make a difference:
· VOTE for Evans, Dallara and Sobolov 1-2-4 for Hoboken School Board. Polls are open from 6am-8pm and you can find your polling location here. You have three votes for school board.
· On Election Day, be sure to wear a button or a t-shirt, and get a balloon or sign at our election day HQ at 626 Bloomfield St. Also please consider volunteering an hour or two to help remind Hoboken to vote! We need to show Hoboken there is overwhelming support for Jennifer, Sheillah and Irene!
· SPREAD THE WORD! PLEASE forward this email to your friends and neighbors. Spread the word about Jennifer, Sheillah and Irene, and vote 1-2-4!
