INVITATION TO FLOOD RESILIENCY DROP-IN SESSIONS

Last night at a public meeting at the Wallace School, the State introduced five proposed concepts for the Rebuild by Design Hudson River: Resist, Delay, Store, Discharge project. The $230 million in funding awarded through the project will be implemented through one of the five introduced concepts to help protect the Hoboken region from flooding due to severe storms. The five proposed concepts and project materials can be found on the project website at www.rbd-hudsonriver.nj.gov. 

Residents are also invited to attend one of the three drop-in sessions to ask questions and provide feedback on the concepts. The details of the drop-in sessions are below.

1) Drop-in session #1: Monday, December 14, 6:00 pm – 8:30 pm: Hoboken Historical Museum (1301 Hudson Street)

2) Drop-in session #2: Tuesday, December 15, 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm: St. Lawrence Church (22 Hackensack Avenue, Weehawken)

3) Drop-in session #3: Thursday, December 17, 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm: Hoboken Housing Authority (221 Jackson Street)

Based on screening criteria and feedback from the community, the five proposed concepts will be reduced to three for further evaluation. An additional meeting will be scheduled in January to go over the three concepts. Any resident who would like to provide feedback can also email comments to rbd-hudsonriver@dep.nj.gov.
