A note on service and family from Richard Tremitiedi

“You always forget the one you love”

At the June 20th Council Meeting, it was very
rewarding to be presented with a proclamation from Mayor Dawn Zimmer for my
selection as “2012 Hoboken Outstanding Senior Resident” in a program
administered by Hudson County. I thanked
Mayor Zimmer for nominating me with the suspected help of Leo Pellegrini,
Director of Health and Human Services and Tom Foley, Division Head of Senior
Services.
After my retirement as fire chief, I am privileged to
continue to serve on the Hoboken Zoning Board of Adjustment and to help as a
proud member of the Hoboken Community Emergency Response Team [C.E.R.T.], which
is always at the ready, when called upon, to assist our Police and Fire
Departments, and the Hoboken Volunteer Ambulance Corps in times of great
emergencies such as floods, hurricanes and acts of terrorism.
All these activities take some time and this letter is to
thank my wife Mary for putting up with me. I hope to continue to contribute as
long as I can.
Respectfully,
Richard Tremitiedi

Talking Ed Note: MSV joins with Hoboken in thanking Richard Tremitiedi for his decades of service to Hoboken.
We’d also like to extend a happy anniversary as Richard and his wife Mary are celebrating their 22nd wedding anniversary today.
Congratulations!
