Accusations fly and tempers flare on allegation of criminality on zoning board selections

The following story comes courtesy of the Hudson County View:

Hoboken council trades blows over NHSA, zoning board appointments

=&0=&: Councilman Mike DeFusco clashed with both City Council President Jen Giattino and Councilwoman Tiffanie Fisher in what may be a preliminary brawl to Hoboken’s election season.

The first clash came on the appearance of the NHSA commissioner selection Ed Freidrich and later a clash followed with Councilman DeFusco pointing to what he alleged are illegal actions by council members reviewing Zoning Board candidates.

“We can not tell Zoning Board members how to vote,” Councilman Mike Defusco said.
This led to Councilwoman Tiffanie Fisher taking the floor to counter the allegation on a proper approach discussing philosophy with potential candidates. Read More...

STATEMENT FROM MAYOR ZIMMER ON SOUTHWEST PARK EXPANSION

Office of the Mayor announces:

=&0=& Yesterday evening the Hoboken City Council voted 8-0-1 on first reading for an ordinance to authorize the use of eminent domain to acquire Block 10, a vacant property in Southwest Hoboken, for the expansion of the Southwest Park. The second reading and public hearing on the ordinance will take place at the Council meeting on Wednesday, February 1st.

“Thank you to all Hoboken residents who took the time to come to the City Council meeting last night to support giving the City the tools it needs to negotiate a fair price for the long-promised expansion of the Southwest Park,” said Mayor Dawn Zimmer. “Thank you also to the eight City Council members who voted yes on first reading of the ordinance. I hope that Councilman DeFusco, who voted ‘present,’ will after reviewing the materials provided to him, join his colleagues in providing unanimous Council support on the second reading at the Wednesday, February 1st Council meeting. I encourage residents to come out again to the February 1st meeting to voice their support for eminent domain as a negotiating tool as well as for the Green Acres grant application for the purchase of Block 10.” Read More...

City Council initiates eminent domain in 8-0-1 vote against Academy Bus

The big takeaway last night is the Hoboken City Council’s action to allow eminent domain to proceed against the downtown acre owned by Academy Bus.

The lopsided 8-0-1 vote is unlike the previous contentious 5-4 vote in 2011 for the one acre parking lot the City of Hoboken is working to complete as a southwest park.

The action is not the end but the beginning of a process where negotiations may find a reasonable alternative to legal proceedings. The City of Hoboken and Academy Bus have waged public campaigns for support as the two sides are far apart in any potential sale of the property. Read More...

Sign of the Times: Pupie is pooped

=&0=&

Frank Raia who was catapulted off the North Hudson Sewerage Authority last year with a late, upstart run for the commissioner seat by reform stalwart Kurt Gardiner is officially withdrawn from contention.

Only last week sources said the Pupster was telling people he had the five council votes needed for appointment. The five year term of the current open seat would give Raia over 30 years on the authority.

Over the weekend, reliable sources say that support and votes on the council collapsed with at least one council member admitting he would reverse course and inform Pupie he would no longer be providing a vote. Read More...

End of an era?

Tonight the Hoboken City Council will hold its second regularly scheduled meeting and on the agenda is an appointment to the North Hudson Sewerage Authority.

The campaign to see over 30 years on the board for one Frank “Pupie” Raia weighs in the balance.
Will we witness the end of an error in Hoboken public institutions?

One Hoboken sans Pupie?

Last weekend our man Sully, re: Al Sullivan, who is actually more a Bayonne-Jersey City beatnik lauded Pupie indirectly by vociferously complaining again about the 2013 One Hoboken ticket he underwrote with the noxious Beth Mason. According to the political columnist, the ticket was part of some phony campaign and Hudson Sludge he deemed a swerve. Read More...

Three days out…

It’s three days before the inauguration of the 45th President of the United States and the frothing, the foaming and propaganda by the Deep State and much of its machinery, subsidiary lemmings, dupes and assorted cranks continues apace.

One big question unasked by its media militants concerns Hillary Clinton who may be in dire need of a presidential pardon even more than originally thought.

In a release garnering next to no media attention a week ago on a Sunday, during the NY Giants – Green Bay game the FBI released several hundred emails never seen between the former Secretary of State and among others, loyal political operative Sydney Blumenthal. Read More...

Eminent Domain authorization against Academy Bus requested by Mayor Zimmer

Mayor Dawn Zimmer announced a request to the Hoboken City Council for approval of eminent domain authority for a one acre parcel of land owned by Academy Bus in downtown Hoboken.

The council meeting is scheduled for Wednesday.

Academy Bus owns a one acre parcel of land in southwest Hoboken.
Mayor Dawn Zimmer is asking the City Council for eminent domain authority
to move on the property.

Discussions for some time between the City of Hoboken and Academy Bus over the downtown  land of approximately one acre has seen acrimony and apparently a negotiation gulf in the millions of dollars.

Academy Bus began a public campaign last August, one of the most quietest times in Hoboken during the year to engage the Hoboken public against any such eminent domain action. Read More...
