Pier C Park sees its first full day open.  Even without the playground area available, everyone seems to be enjoying it.  With this warm November day, the number of people going through it this morning was a steady throng.

City of Hoboken announces:

There has been a 12 inch water main break near 12th St and Washington. United Water customers on the west side of Washington Street between 12th and 13th may be without water. Water buffalo truck is on its way and will be near 12th/Washington to provide water to customers. Hoboken Police and United Water construction crew are on site. Washington St is closed between 12th and 13th. Additional information will be provided as it becomes available. Customers with questions may also call United Water’s emergency line, 201-487-0011. It’s….uh park – Park C partially opens

City of Hoboken announces:

=&0=& The City of Hoboken is partially opening Pier C park to the public. The promenade and lawn areas will be open, while the playground areas in the middle, which are not complete, are closed off with fencing.

“I welcome everyone to come out and enjoy our newest park,” said Mayor Dawn Zimmer. “The park’s nighttime lighting is impressive, and we invite residents to take an evening stroll.” Read More...

Just wanted to let you know Bike Hoboken is planning another bike ride this weekend. We had a great turnout for the first ride, and members have been clamoring for another one ever since. United Water update: work expected completed by end of day

UNITED WATER IS REPAIRING WATER MAIN ON WASHINGTON

Harrington Park, NJ, Nov 12, 2010, 9:00 am

United Water emergency crews are working to repair a broken 12-inch water main on Washington Avenue in Hoboken.

Customers in the vicinity of Washington between 12th and 14th streets may have no water, low water pressure or discolored water. Residents can obtain drinking water from a water tanker located on Washington between 12th and 13th streets. They should bring containers.
United Water is replacing a ten foot section of pipe. Work is expected to be completed by this evening. Read More...

City: Uptown water update and water assistance

=&0=&=&1=& A water main break has occurred near 12th and Washington Street. United Water is making repairs, however residents onWashington Street between 12th Street and 14th Street may be without water service today.

A water buffalo truck has been ordered and is located at 12th Street and Washington Street to provide drinkable water. Residents may bring their own container to the truck to collect water. Any resident needing assistance with getting water may call 201-420-2000 and a Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) volunteer member will come to their home to assist them. Read More...

UPDATE: A leak in front of 1201 Washington St. is believed to be a water main. Residents on Washington St. between 12th and 14th Streets may be without water. United Water is on the scene making repairs. A water buffalo truck has been ordered and is at 12th and Washington Street to provide water to negate service interruption to residents. Residents needing water may bring a container to the water truck. Police are on the scene to direct traffic. Additional information will be provided as it becomes available.

What entitles one to subsidized housing in Hoboken?

If the electoral fraud controversy in the fourth ward special election hasn’t been enough to get the blood hot in November, the subject of qualifying for subsidized housing re: taxpayer supported housing in Hoboken certainly fits the bill.

We have police, fire and other civil servants in Hoboken eligible for the limited availability housing stock. Yet, like George Orwell’s “Animal Farm,” some animals appear more equal than others.

Church Towers like Marine View has a logjam of applicants. The recent discussion how one can live in Marine View, buy a home and live in Lynhurst, sell it and then find your way back into yet another subsidized apartment in short order appears to have struck a nerve. Read More...
